Medway
The Town of Medway “Gateway to Maine’s North Woods” also known as Nicatou in the Wabanaki language of the Penobscot Nation. It means “the forks” as it marks the joining of the East and West Branches of the Penobscot River. Settled in 1820, incorporated in 1875.

745-9348. East Branch Sno Rovers & ATV Club began in 1972 and is located on the east branch of the Penobscot River between Medway and East Millinocket. It’s located in the heart of premium snowmobiling in the country. The club maintains miles of scenic, groomed trails through the Maine woods. The club house is open to support the trail and members by offering a variety of hot and cold snacks. Hosts Winterfest activities for children and adults Congregational Church of Medway, built in 1874 with funding provided by Benjamin Fiske, prominent citizen and business owner. Fiske gave the deed to the community specifying the building’s use as a church and school. It was later used as a local grange chapter. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. Located on Church Street in Medway was also used as the Wonder Grange. The Church is maintained by the town with both grant and taxpayer funds. It is currently being restored as required by the national history registry. There are no public hours.
