Maine Department of Economic and Community Development DECD and its partners show companies how to benefit from millions of dollars in tax credits, reimbursements, R & D credits, capital loans, even direct investment. Every year, we help Maine communities attract jobs and grow their infrastructure with unique financing programs.

Maine Office of Community Development    The Office of Community Development (OCD) is a division within the Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD). The primary focus of OCD is the administration of the HUD funded Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) which includes regional technical assistance and training. Additional areas of OCD program administration and financial responsibility include the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and the Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Program.

Maine International Trade Center  Maine International Trade Center (MITC) helps Maine businesses enter and expand global markets for their products and services. MITC offers one-on-one consulting and research, affordable group trade show participation, connections around the world, export reimbursement funds for small businesses, and more. Leveraging overseas synergy, MITC also works to increase international student attraction and foreign investment. A public-private partnership, MITC is funded through Maine Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), corporate contributions, and membership dues of nearly 300 businesses and organizations.

Eastern Maine Development Corporation is a non-profit organization that provides three much-needed services to the Region. Business Services, Community Services, and Workforce Services all come together to create a team of staff who make a difference in the community every day.

Maine Office of Tourism

Maine Small Business Development Centers   The Maine SBDC program helps build and strengthen small businesses through business advising, training and educational resources. Certified business advisors provide guidance on topics such as business feasibility, business plan development, capital acquisition, financial management, marketing and sales, e-commerce, customer service, personnel management, small business strategic planning and more.

Maine Women’s Business Center  The Women’s Business Center at CEI offers experienced, knowledgeable business specialists who can help you at any stage of your business, from start-up to expansion. Within a setting that respects your experience, skills, and learning style, we assist you in building business skills through access to timely, accurate, tailored information and resources.

Maine Technology Institute  MTI works with entrepreneurs, innovators, established businesses and institutions conducting research and development to FUNDCONNECT and GROW them to resources that will help them commercialize their technologies. Our programs help innovators accelerate progress to the market, leverage additional private and public investment, and ultimately, expand their economic impact in Maine.

Maine SBA   an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. We recognize that small business is critical to our economic recovery and strength, to building America’s future, and to helping the United States compete in today’s global marketplace.

Maine Small Business Guide

Maine Stream Finance  is a non-profit organization dedicated to economic development by providing credit, capital and financial services that are often unavailable from traditional financial institutions. We provide personal finance, home loans and business services to people in Maine who might otherwise have limited access to financing and credit.

Finance Authority of Maine    FAME offers a wide array of business assistance programs, ranging from traditional loan insurance programs for both small and larger businesses, to investment tax credits. FAME has also established taxable and tax-exempt bond financing programs that allow strong, creditworthy firms in Maine to access capital at favorable rates and terms.

Coastal Enterprises, Inc    helps to grow good jobs, environmentally sustainable enterprises, and shared prosperity in Maine and in rural regions across the country by integrating financing, business and industry expertise, and policy solutions. CEI envisions a world in which communities are economically and environmentally healthy, enabling all people, especially those with low incomes, to reach their full potential.

USDA Rural Development  We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. Through our programs, we help rural Americans in many ways. We offer loans, grants and loan guarantees to help create jobs and support economic development and essential services such as housing, health care, first responder services and equipment, and water, electric and communications infrastructure.
