millinocketimageThe Town of Millinocket Maine was incorporated by the Maine Legislature on March 16, 1901.  The Town magically grew over an amazingly short period of about two years.  The Town was nicknamed, "The Magic City" because it appeared in the wilderness “overnight”.

The Town of Millinocket is also the major point of entry into the North Maine Woods, as well as home to Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin.  Mt. Katahdin is Maine's highest mountain and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.

The Millinocket area is a beautiful landscape for many outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, white water rafting, kayaking, boating, camping, snowmobiling, ATV trail riding, hiking, biking, cross country skiing in the Katahdin Area.  Many visitors also find bird watching and photography opportunities just outside their front door.

The hours of operation for the town office are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  We are closed on Wednesdays, State and Federal holidays.  The phone number is (207) 723-7000.
